Last night we saw the second addition of the new 4 episode series on BBC 1 called The Great British Weather at 7.30pm. This live show presented by Carol Kirkwood, Alexander Armstrong and Chris Hollins looks in to the UK’s obsession with weather as well as sharing some weather facts and expelling some myths about our weather too.

Did you know that on average it rains in Britain 199 days a year? That’s 4 days of every week! On last nights episode of The Great British Weather on BBC One, research was conducted in to the myth that cows can predict the weather and will lay down when it is going to rain – the mini experiment included a herd of Jim and Kate Bevans (also known from BBC’s Lambing Live) cows and showed that the cows could indeed get it right and predicted a rain shower before the equipment did! Nobody knows the real reason, but it is believed that cows are very sensitive to changes in wind speed and air pressure and this is how they can tell when rain is on its way.

Also spotted on The Great British Weather last night was the choice of footwear sported by Carol Kirkwood and Alexander Armstrong; they were both wearing Hunter Wellies! This weekend is the 6th Latitude Festival held at Henham Park, Southwold in Suffolk where 35,000 are expected to attend this sell out festival. Latitude is ‘more than just a music festival’ where visitors can expect to see a selection of arts including theatre, poetry, arts, film, dance, fashion, literature, comedy, cabaret as well as a fantastic lineup of music across this 3 day festival with headliners including The National, Paolo Nutini, Suede, Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals and Eels, with supporting acts including Paloma Faith, KT Tunstall, Seasicks Steve, Glasvegas, The Vaccines, Echo and the Bunnymen, Everything Everything plus so many more.

As with any British festival, the weather is likely to be unpredictable and usually offers a mixture of sunshine and showers. The BBC Weather Forecast for Latitude Festival is predicting plenty of rain for the Latitude 2011 so be sure to pack your festival wellies and waterproof clothing and allow nothing to spoil your weekend.

This weekend it’s the 18th T in the Park Festival in Balado, Kinross-shire in Scotland and if you have got tickets you are sure to experience one of the best weekends of your life! T in the Park 2011 has been voted ‘Festival of the Year’ at the Music Week Awards 2011. The lineup for T in the Park is set your blow your socks off with an absolutely amazing variety of acts set to take the stage over the 3 day festival with headliners including Arctic Monkey, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Pulp, Beyonce, The Strokes, Plan B, Pendulum, Tom Jones, The View as well as hundreds of fantastic artists set to join them.
